When I was fifty, I woke up, and realized, today I’m fifty, and I asked myself what have I done with my last fifty years. And I looked back and I didn’t like what I saw. I didn’t see anything that I had achieved. Nothing. I had two lovely wonderful children, but nothing that I had achieved as a person. And I wanted to change that.
Asking The Right Questions
So, I asked myself what am I going to do with my next fifty years? And that was when I started looking outside of myself first to find out what does it take to make it.
What does it take? What differentiates you from other people who are living out their dreams? And by the way, what are your dreams?
And I started asking these questions and making decisions and talking to people who were living out their dreams, trying to figure it out. When I did figure it out, that was when I decided to write a book to help others so that they do not have to struggle the way that I had and hopefully to read it long before they reach fifty.
The book itself was written after I had started to live a better life. I had to see that it worked for me. That was very important. I wanted to be sure that it worked.
Discovering a Success Formula
So, one of the first things that I did once I thought I had a formula of how to get from A to B and still be happy is to challenge myself.
At that time, I was an avid fan of THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW. And I said to myself, OK, if you know the secret to getting what you want, then get yourself on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW.
That was when I knew that I was really onto something. That I really had discovered how you can have the things that you want in life. And I put that plan in action. And I’m not kidding, a month later, I was sitting on the stage of THE
And the book is very explanatory, but I can tell you really in two sentences what I had discovered, even lately, that it sometimes works even better, and the first is “I’ve had enough of where I am right now”, and the second is “I want more than what I have right now.” When you put yourself into that place, things just start to shift.
OPRAH WINFREY SHOW. One month later.
The other catalyst other than getting on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW was just paying attention to my life and how I was making things happen in my life.
Making Life Changes
I have been just a moving little robot from fifty until now. I have been making things happen, and it’s expanding your mind, reading, being open to what other people have to say. Listening before you judge. All those things and I had to work a lot on myself. Anybody who wants changes should work a lot on yourself. First, you should find out what’s holding you back, then you have to work on yourself.
But you have to get into that place where you’ve had enough and you want more. And what kept me in place from eighteen to fifty was not saying “I have had enough and I don’t want more.”
Because you get exactly what you want in life whether you acknowledge it or not. You’re somehow telling the universe that you’ve had enough, and you don’t want more. So you get exactly what you ask for.
Everybody Has Life Options
I now have an understanding that I would like to spread to other people. And the whole goal of my coaching, my counseling, and my teaching is awareness. I want people to be aware of what their options are. And that is what limits people from my point of view.
People who are not progressing think that they don’t have any choices. They think that their choices are limited somehow. But all of us have unlimited choices. And you may not realize that you are changing your life minute by minute by making choices. You just need to make different choices.
And my firm belief is that every day when I wake up, it is truly a brand, new day. I can make brand new choices all over again. And if more people would feel that way, they would not feel hemmed in or limited or feel all the negative things that people have.
Make The Right Choices
It’s about your choices and knowing they’re unlimited. No matter who you are, whether you’re confined to a wheelchair or confined to a prison. If you have your right mind, you can make good choices. But it helps to make choices when you know what is the result that you’d like to see.
